Shatner at MIPTV

Leading international media company Cineflix announced today it has partnered with television and film icon William Shatner in a new series that seeks to find a logical, scientific explanation for fascinating mysteries and strange phenomena.

Produced by Cineflix Productions, in Weird or What? William Shatner will investigate and analyze all that is weird in the world, including everything from paranormal phenomena to weird and wonderful creatures, from medical oddities to mysterious disappearances, and bizarre natural disasters to mystical monster attacks. Simon Lloyd, CEO, Cineflix Programming, William Shatner and Rod Parker are Executive Producers.

Cineflix International will distribute Weird or What? internationally across all platforms excluding the USA.

Shatner will unveil the programme at a press conference at MIPTV on Monday April 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Palais des Festivals, Auditorium J, 4th floor.

“Our show is weird and wonderful,” said William Shatner. “It’s also whacky. If the mystery of the world around us interests you, then this is your adventure.”

“William Shatner is instantly recognizable to generations of TV fans and has established cult status in the science genre,” said Charles Tremayne, Cineflix Executive Vice President of Programming. “We are thrilled and proud that he has agreed to bring his talent and unique wit to our newest science programme.”

“Weird or What? with William Shatner will have huge international appeal as a show within the factual genre and also as a primetime entertainment series,” said Cineflix International President and Managing Director Paul Heaney.
