Deals in France

Making significant inroads in France with its slate of in house and third-party programming, Cineflix International has announced several major deals with some of the country’s top broadcasters.

Brokered by CID’s Head of Sales, Kate Llewellyn Jones, W9 has purchased all three seasons (36 hours) of the forensic crime investigation series Cold Blood, as well as both seasons of Conviction Kitchen (16×60), the hit series that follows one of the world’s top chefs and a crew of ex-cons with no culinary experience as they attempt to open a high-end restaurant in just three weeks.

Part of the M6 network, W9 has also purchased the documentary series Eaten Alive (6×60), recounting the bone-chilling, near-fatal stories of humans attacked by some of the world’s deadliest predators, along with the Glasshead Productions’ one-hour special My Monkey Baby.

Digital terrestrial broadcaster Direct 8 has licensed the first four seasons of Huge Moves, along with 27 episodes of the airline disaster documentary series Mayday. This latest Mayday deal means that all 67 hours of the eight-season franchise have now been sold in France across Direct 8, W9, France 5 and M6.

With its recent acquisition of the fifth series of Border Security (produced by Australia’s Seven Network) and Border Security USA (the American version produced for ABC), Planete has now purchased all episodes of the property, while the TF1 family of cable and satellite channels has acquired World’s Greenest Homes 2 (for Ushuaia) and _ Weddings SOS 4_ (for Odyssee).

Finally, Cuisine TV has acquired the hit series Eat Yourself Sexy (13×30) featuring world-renowned nutrition guru Gillian McKeith as she steps in to transform the lives of desperately out-of-shape women in just eight weeks.
