Picking Canada's History One Item at A Time: Cineflix's Canadian Pickers Premieres on History Television with Simultaneous Launch of, April 12

The highly anticipated series Canadian Pickers, inspired by Cineflix’s smash hit American Pickers, premieres on History Television on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Cineflix and History Television announced today. The series follows antiquing compatriots Sheldon Smithens and Scott Cozens, as they uncover bits of Canadian history, one dusty relic at a time. The series premiere is accompanied by the simultaneous launch of, a comprehensive antiques & collectibles website, offering picker aficionados and rookies an online community to share their picking stories, learn more about the art of picking, and buy or sell a piece of Canadian history.

Canadian Pickers, The Series

The one-hour, thirteen-part series follows Sheldon and Scott as they embark on a Canadiana-packed road trip featuring such fine and rare treasures as a totem pole from the West Coast, painted cabinets in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, and a unique mason’s table in Nova Scotia. Each of Sheldon and Scott’spicks explores the history and stories behind their “rusty gold” finds and introduces viewers to a variety of charming and quirky characters with fascinating stories to share.

The premiere episode of Canadian Pickers follows Sheldon and Scott in their home province of Alberta as they kick start their cross-Canada treasure hunt at the legendary Blackfoot Truck Stop. Scott goes nuts for a totem pole, and after a tense negotiation, the guys have a huge problem trying to wrestle it out of the ground. Later, Scott and Sheldon head to Bellevue, famous for its nearby ghost towns and legendary mines.
