Through Cities, Over Mountains and Across Oceans - Can Homes Survive These Massive Moves?

Think packing up and moving is stressful? Imagine moving the entire building - chimney, fixtures, furniture, walls and roof intact. This is the daunting challenge faced by teams of expert house haulers who move buildings that were never meant to leave their foundations. Through cities, over mountains and across oceans, follow these titanic treks in the series Massive Moves, returning for a second season with 26 brand new episodes every Sunday at 10pm ET/PT, beginning January 6 on HGTV Canada.

Massive Moves tracks the high stakes adventure faced by families and movers when transferring homes across treacherous terrain. Each half-hour episode introduces a new family of homeowners, their house, and a new set of challenges for the movers to tackle, while using CGI animation to demonstrate the incredible feats of engineering involved with each big move.

For the homeowners, the decision to move an entire home is a leap of faith. The move tests their mettle with every nail-biting twist and turn. For the movers, it’s dangerous work and a race against time. Crews risk it all to overcome huge hurdles – hauling up to 150 tons of solid building as far as 150 miles by tractor trailer or barge – navigating a gauntlet of city streets, tight turns, high voltage power lines, overhanging trees, narrow bridges, railway crossings, steep off-road trails, falling rock-prone highways, perilous waters, changing tides, strong currents or rogue waves that could destroy a home.

Will the houses survive? Everything is at stake. Anything can happen. There are no second chances.

Season two of Massive Moves is a Windfall Films Limited / Cineflix (Massive Moves 2) Inc. co-production in association with Shaw Media. The series is distributed in Canada by Cineflix Media Inc. and internationally by Cineflix Rights Limited. Massive Moves airs in Canada, France and Australia.
