Cineflix Rights seals deals with French, Italian and Spanish broadcasters in advance of MIPCOM
Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television content distributors, has signed an output agreement with French broadcaster RMC Découverte, alongside a series of deals with Italian and Spanish broadcasters in the run up to MIPCOM 2013.
The deal with RMC Découverte is for 30 hours of content per year, with the first programmes bought by the broadcaster including the high-end blue chip factual brands World War II: The Last Heroes (6 x 60’, Impossible Pictures) and Air Aces (6 x 60’, Cineflix Productions).
Lifestyle and property programming form the bulk of the deals with other broadcasters, with Sky Italia buying Dinner Party Wars (39 x 60’, Cineflix Productions), House Poor (14 x 30’, Frantic Films), and Buying and Selling (season 2, 26 x 60’, Cineflix Productions). Mediaset Spain has purchased My House, Your Money (52 x 30’, Cineflix Productions), Property Brothers (seasons 1-4, 91 x 60’, Cineflix Productions) and Buying & Selling (seasons 1-2, 39 x 60’, Cineflix Productions). Additionally, Spain’s Atres Media has bought Cash Cowboys (seasons 1-2, 26 x 60’, Cineflix Productions)
The Day Kennedy Died (1 x 60’, Finestripe Productions for ITV1 UK and Smithsonian Channel US), timed to mark the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination this November, has been bought by Sky Italia and France’s D8.
Cineflix Rights has also sold Border Security Canada (13 x 30’, Force Four Entertainment and Seven Australia) to pan-regional broadcaster Discovery Italy & Iberia. All of the deals were brokered by VP of Sales and Acquisitions Sabrina Ayala.
