Cineflix Rights signs lifestyle and crime deals in advance of MIPCOM 2014

Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has signed deals with multiple broadcasters for some of its most popular lifestyle and crime and investigation brands. The deals come in ahead of MIPCOM 2014, to which the distributor is bringing its largest ever catalogue of 4000 hours of programming.

As Cineflix launches Food Factory USA for the first time at MIPCOM, the original Food Factory continues to perform well, with Polish broadcaster TVS taking season 2 (26x30’, Cineflix Productions); Discovery UK and EMEA buying seasons 3 and 4 (52x30’), and AETN Asia taking seasons 1 and 2 (52x30’).  Cineflix is also featuring Home Factory (14x30’, Cineflix Productions) at MIPCOM. Recently commissioned by HGTV Canada, the series builds on the principle of Food Factory and goes behind the factory gates to marvel at the machines and meets the unsung heroes who make the necessities and comforts we can’t live without.  Home Factory has been sold to FYI in the US, and Discovery UK and Europe in advance of the market.

Another new series being launched at MIPCOM is Brother vs. Brother (12x60’, Scott Brothers Entertainment), from popular stars  Jonathan and Drew Scott of the growing Property Brothers franchise. Prior to the market, the distributor has sold seasons 1 and 2 of Property Brothers (39x60’, Cineflix Productions) to Scripps Asia, Mediaset Spain, and SKY Italy. Additionally, Cineflix Productions’ long running lifestyle show Property Virgins has been sold to Fox Latin America (season 11, 13x30’), and Digicast Italy (season 10, 13x30’).

Cineflix Rights’ position as a leading supplier of crime and investigation programming continues with the distributor selling Surviving Evil (seasons 1 and 2, 20x60’, Cineflix Productions) and Psychic Investigators (seasons 1 to 3, 45x30’, Cineflix Productions) to Digicast, Italy; Obsession: Dark Desires (10x60’, October Films) to NBC Poland; Impostors (6x60’, CMJ Productions) and Crimes That Shook Britain (season 5, 6x60’, Title Role Productions) to A+E Networks Italy. Additionally, it has sold Imposters to Discovery Europe;  Last Seen Alive (6x60’) to Discovery Poland and Digicast, Italy; and Unusual Suspects (seasons 5 and 6, 26x60’, LMNO Productions) to Crime & Investigation UK; and Crimes That Shook Australia (6x60’, Title Role Productions) to BTVHD China.

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said; “These latest sales demonstrate not only the continuing strength of our long running brands but also how they are being developed into new programming based on popular talent and formats which are hits with audiences worldwide. We’re looking forward to launching our new shows Food Factory USA and Brother vs. Brother at MIPCOM and are convinced they’ll be just as successful.”
