Cineflix Rights makes deals ahead of ATF 2014
Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has signed a series of deals with Asian broadcasters in advance of ATF 2014.
Leading the deals is BTVHD China, which has taken a number of Cineflix Rights’ highly successful crime and investigation titles including Surviving Evil (season 1, 10x60’, Cineflix Productions), Motives & Murders (season 1, 10x60’, Cineflix Productions), Imposters (6x60’, CMJ Productions), Extreme Prison Breaks (12x30’, Cineflix Productions), and Accident Investigator (season 2, 5x60’, CMJ Productions).
Additionally, Shanghai Media Group has bought titles including WW2 Game Changers (1x60’, October Films), I, Human (2x60’, Touch Productions), The End of Men (1x60’, Frantic Films), and Crowning New York (1x60’, Pipeline 39 Entertainment).
Cineflix Productions’ long running series Mayday: Air Disaster continues to prove to be popular amongst Asian broadcasters with both Nippon TV and TV Asahi buying individual episodes. Nippon TV has also acquired season 5 of Border Security (20x30’, Seven Network).
The deals were secured by Chris Bluett, VP Sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux at Cineflix Rights, who is attending ATF.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “China, and Asia more widely, is a growing market for us and these deals illustrate how our crime and investigation content is performing particularly well in the region. ATF is a great opportunity to showcase other genres in our catalogue such as history and science which have an enduring appeal to viewers and networks across Asia.”
