Cineflix Media Partners with Strong Island Films

Cineflix Media Inc. announced today that it has formed a strategic partnership with Strong Island Films, the television and film production company set up by veteran executive producer and show runner, Rob Dorfmann and award-winning documentary filmmaker, Cindy DePasquale.

The overall agreement covers development, production, and distribution.  Cineflix will have an exclusive option to co-produce new projects developed by Strong Island Films.  Cineflix Rights will have an exclusive first-look to distribute Strong Island Films’ North American content.

Dorfmann and DePasquale joined forces to set up Strong Island Films less than a year ago. Since then, they have secured development deals with HGTV, Investigation Discovery and FremantleMedia North America, and options on intellectual properties, talent and websites. They have numerous shows in development and several projects up for consideration at networks in the US and the UK.  Strong Island Films will be based in Cineflix’s New York production hub.   

The overall deal highlights Cineflix’s strategy to diversify and grow its business through innovative partnerships with top creative talent, and increase the supply of programming to its distribution division through a variety of content pipelines. This follows the very successful launch of new indie Buccaneer Media in 2013, Cineflix’s joint venture with leading UK producer Tony Wood.

Rob Dorfmann’s previous credits include directing and executive producing Discovery Channel’s series Saint Hoods – the wildly popular and gritty account of real life Boston bookies.  Cindy DePasquale’s recent work includes executive producing and writing the 60-minute, award-winning documentary special on National Geographic Channel, Mayan Blue.  Dorfmann and DePasquale aligned this year to executive produce the spine chilling two-hour documentary event on LMN My Uncle is the Green River Killer.
