Cineflix Rights to distribute Biblical Conspiracies
Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has signed a deal with Canadian producer Associated Producers Ltd. for worldwide distribution rights to its high-profile and provocative series Biblical Conspiracies.
Biblical Conspiracies is a four-part (4x60’) series that examines major historical artefacts and uses cutting-edge forensic science to investigate these ancient riddles. At the heart of each episode is a genuine decoding of a contentious Biblical mystery. These artefacts include Roman-era nails said to have been used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a new examination of the story behind Michelangelo’s most famous sculpture – the Pietà, and strange remains found in the tomb of the last legitimate king of Israel.
One of the episodes, The Bride of God, is based on a new examination of one of the oldest manuscripts in existence at the British Library written by an anonymous monk. After millennia of rumors, this manuscript seems to be the first solid written evidence that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. The manuscript also recounts that Mary Magdalene was a gentile and that Jesus and Mary had children. The theory has generated headlines worldwide.
Biblical Conspiracies premieres in the US on Science Channel on December 14 at 9 p.m. The series was acquired for Cineflix Rights by Lucinda Gergley-Garner, SVP Sales and Acquisitions, North America.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Biblical Conspiracies has already generated a huge amount of media and public interest for its theory about the life of Jesus Christ. I’m sure it will prove enormously successful with broadcasters looking for an audience-grabbing mix of history, science, and new revelations about ancient mysteries. ”
Associated Producers’ Simcha Jacobovici, who produced the series, added: “Every episode tracks cutting-edge science trying to solve a Biblical mystery. Each finding is a headline-grabbing revelation. As far as I’m concerned, every one of these discoveries expands our understanding of some of the greatest stories ever told.”
