Cineflix Rights opens up The Secret World of LEGO to global audiences

Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s leading independent television distributors, has acquired the rights to distribute Waddell Media’s Channel 4 primetime hit The Secret World of LEGO.
The 1x60’ special obtained exclusive access to what has become the world’s most profitable toy maker. The notoriously secretive, privately owned superbrand opened its doors for the first time to the documentary makers who follow a young British design student, as he travels to LEGO headquarters in Denmark in pursuit of one of the most hotly contested jobs in the world—a LEGO set designer. The programme also tells the story of another young designer who undertook the same process and has now risen to become a Vice President of Design, and follows two adult fans of LEGO, as they attempt to transform their love of the brick into hard cash.
The Secret World of LEGO, first aired on Channel 4 on 14 June. Overnight ratings show its audience peaking at three million, just under 90 per cent above share average, and winning its slot for 16-34 viewers.

The deal to acquire The Secret World of LEGO was brokered by Kate Laffey, Cineflix Rights’ Director of Acquisitions. Cineflix Rights will be premiering the show to buyers at NATPE Europe.
