November 9, 2015
Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has closed a number of deals to take its supersized family series Bringing Up Bates to more than 75 countries worldwide.
The deals which cover seasons 1 and 2 (35x30’) of the show include Discovery Latin America, Discovery Australia, Discovery New Zealand, Discovery Italy, Digicast Italy and CBS AMC Networks across Africa, the Middle East, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.
Bringing Up Bates, is the highest-rated original series ever commissioned by UP network in the US. It revolves around Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their supersized family of 19 kids, aged from two to 25. Featuring the daily chaos and intense moments that all families experience, from new babies to landmark birthdays, older kids leaving home and momentous weddings, the series shows what happens when all of these events are multiplied many times over.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Bringing Up Bates has become a hit for UP because audiences have embraced it as a warm and genuine look at family life. Though they’re on a different scale to most families, the themes the show explores have struck a chord and it’s sure to move international audiences as well. We’re looking forward to closing more sales in additional countries shortly.”
