Cineflix Rights builds slate for MIPCOM with new UK and New Zealand content
September 19, 2016
Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has signed deals with UK and New Zealand producers for new content that will launch at MIPCOM.
Whizz Kids: On the Fast Track to F1 (1x60’, Finestripe Productions) shows children as young as five bidding to become the next Lewis Hamilton by thrusting their way into the fast lane. With access to the ultra-competitive world of karting, the film goes behind-the-scenes at some of the toughest tracks in Britain, following kids determined to join racing’s elite and the dads driving these primary school prodigies to succeed.
Gun Shop (1x60’, Rogan Productions) uses fixed-rig cameras in a small, family-run gun store to provide eye-opening insights into the relationship Americans have with their guns and is an entertainingly different take on one of the most fiercely debated issues in the US today.
Karena & Kasey’s Foreign Flavours (10x30’, Imagination Television) sees two young sisters with big attitudes embarking on a fun-packed culinary adventure, sampling local, indigenous cuisines and adding their unique Kiwi touch to create new fusion flavours. Also from Imagination Television, House Hunt (10x30’) follows the journeys of couples, families, and friends across New Zealand as they struggle to achieve the near impossible of buying their first home in the country’s overheated property market.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “I’m delighted to be adding these new acquisitions to our MIPCOM slate. Previous shows from Finestripe and Imagination have all been well received by the international audience and I’m confident these latest additions will be just as successful for broadcasters. I’m also pleased to be adding Rogan Productions’ Gun Shop to our catalogue; with gun control at the centre of the US election debate, it’s a particularly timely show for buyers this market.”
The deals were closed by Kate Laffey, Director of Acquisitions.
