September 6 2017 was the 20th anniversary of the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales. It was a day when the world was brought to a standstill to mourn the ‘People’s Princess’. Diana: The Day the World Cried is the story of that day told by people who were there including some of the famous faces at Westminster Abbey to those behind the scenes such as the funeral’s chief architect Sir Malcolm Ross who had just six days to plan the whole event; chief pallbearer Captain Richard Williams who had the weight of the nation on his and his men’s shoulders and the former Royal Protection Officer who looked after Diana and the two Princes and travelled in the hearse with Diana’s coffin. Many of the interviewees are talking exclusively for the first time.
