From Hans Rosenfeldt, writer of the The Bridge, comes Marcella—a dark and complex thriller set on the streets of London. Detective Marcella Backland is confronted by the return of a killer from her past while battling the fear she herself might be responsible for the murders.
In season 2, a corpse is discovered inside a wall and Marcella soon figures out it’s Leo Priestley—a schoolboy abducted a few years earlier and a friend of her own son, Edward. An investigation ensues as Marcella continues to struggle with her fragile psychological state.
Produced by Tony Wood’s Buccaneer Media and co-created by Hans Rosenfeldt and Nicola Larder (The Tunnel), Marcella is told in Rosenfeldt’s unflinchingly clear Nordic noir style and is his first series created for an English-speaking audience.
