A story that’s already beloved—now beautifully brought to screen.

FIRST LOOK

Based on the best-selling novels of Marian Keyes, The Walsh Sisters is a darkly funny, emotionally raw drama about five Irish sisters—Anna, Rachel, Claire, Maggie, and Helen—bound by love, history, and a tendency to self-destruct. When Rachel’s addiction spirals out of control, it sets off a chain of events that shakes the entire family to its core. Anna is left reeling from an unexpected heartbreak, while Rachel is forced into rehab and must face the chaos she’s created. Claire is struggling to redefine herself as a single mother, Maggie is desperate to start a family of her own, and Helen—stoic and sharp—is hiding battles that no one can see. As they stumble through secrets, family feuds, and moments of grace, each sister must confront who they really are and the roles they’ve always played. At its heart, it’s a story about messy love, painful growth, and the bonds that hold us together.

Headlining the cast are Louisa Harland (Derry Girls, Renegade Nell, Love/Hate) as the troubled Anna Walsh and rising talent Caroline Menton (Oddity) taking on the role of Rachel. Danielle Galligan (House of Guinness, Spilt Milk, Shadow and Bone) plays oldest sister Claire and BAFTA-nominated Máiréad Tyers (Extraordinary, My Lady Jane, Belfast) plays Helen. The final Walsh sister, Maggie, is played by stage, screen, and screenwriting talent Stefanie Preissner (How to Adult). Aidan Quinn (This is my Father, Legends of the Fall, Song for a Raggy Boy) stars as Jack ‘Daddy’ Walsh alongside his screen wife Carrie Crowley (An Cailín Ciúin, Hope Street, Smother), as eccentric Mammy.

The Walsh Sisters is adapted by Stefanie Preissner (Solpadeine is My Boyfriend, Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope), with Kefi Chadwick (Rivals, Death in Paradise) writing two episodes, and is directed by Ian Fitzgibbon (Hullraisers, Moone Boy).

Produced by Cuba Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures for RTÉ in association with the BBC, Screen Ireland and Cineflix Rights.
