A Jordanian airliner makes an emergency landing in Tehran. Among the passengers is Tamar Rabinyan, a Mossad hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under an assumed identity. She shoulders a historic responsibility: to neutralize Iranian radar so Israeli warplanes can bomb a nuclear reactor and prevent Iran from obtaining an atomic bomb. If she fails, the Israeli planes can’t take off. Faraz Kamali, a senior Revolutionary Guards commander and spy-trapper, realizes that Tamar has infiltrated his country and hunts her down.
Tamar’s mission fails—she is trapped in Tehran. Running for her life, she takes cover among the young opponents of the Iranian regime, falling in love with one of them, Milad, against her will. Tamar, who was born in Tehran and emigrated to Israel with her family when she was five, is exposed to Tehran’s stormy underground scene, in dank cellars and on the streets. Despite the danger and the emotional sacrifices, Tamar will do everything to carry out the mission she’s been charged with.
Niv Sultan (Flawless, She Has It, Temporarily Dead) takes the lead role of Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan; Shaun Toub (Homeland, Snowpiercer) plays Iranian security officer Faraz Mehmet; Navid Negahban (Homeland, Legion) is Mossad Field Commander Masoud Tabrizi; and Shervin Alenabi (Baghdad in My Shadow, Gangs of London) as Milad, a young Iranian dissident and hacker who gets caught up in Tamar’s web of deception. Glenn Close joins the cast as Marjan Montazeri, a British woman living in Tehran. The series is created by Moshe Zonder, who wrote the hit Netflix Original series Fauda.
